 What Are Scleral Lenses?

These special contact lenses are made especially for those diagnosed with Keratoconus and other eye issues. As you know your cornea has progressively taken on a cone shape versus its natural round shape. Research has developed contacts to fits your cone-shaped scleral. We highly recommend Scleral Contact Lenses because they will help you see much clearer and images will be sharper.

The scleral lenses fit over your cornea. These lenses are a bit different because the lens creates a vault over the cornea which is tear-filled. If you have tried other contact lenses, and they did not work well due to the shape of your cornea, the scleral lenses will fit your need for more comfortable and sharper vision. Those who suffer from a few other eye issues may benefit greatly by switching to Scleral Contact Lenses such as those with,

  • Dry eye syndrome
  • Corneal Ectasia
  • Microphthalmia
  • Neurotrophic Keratitis
  • Aberrations of the eye
  • Sjogren's Syndrome
  • Aniridia
  • Stevens-Johnson Syndrome
  • Pellucid Degeneration, plus a host of other diagnoses that may not allow you to wear traditional contact lenses comfortably.
